It’s beginning to look a lot like … Sundance!

That’s right folks, Olmos Productions’ Filly Brown is an official selection of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The film stars Gina Rodriguez, Jenni Rivera, Edward James Olmos, and Lou Diamond Phillips. It also features appearances by Battlestar Galactica‘s Bodie Olmos and Jamie Bamber.

Directed by Youssef Delara, who also penned the script, and EJO’s son Michael D. Olmos, the film was selected from literally thousands of entries and will be part of the U.S. Dramatic Competition.

Filly Brown is also produced by Cima Productions and Silent Giant Entertainment.

Walt Disney World’s Candlelight Processional

On Sunday, the Old Man descends on Walt Disney World to narrate the annual Candlelight Processional.

A 10-plus year veteran narrator for the event, Mr. Olmos will present the Christmas story, backed by an orchestra and choir, on Dec. 4-6 (6:45 p.m. & 8:15 p.m. shows only).

DEXTER: An interesting twist

******** Spoiler Alert *******

That’ll teach me to not trust my instincts when it comes to plot twists.

Several weeks ago, I first entertained the notion that Mr. Olmos’ Professor Gellar wasn’t alive, and this week’s DEXTER confirmed it. At what point he was killed or if he was ever actually involved in any of the Dooms Day Killer murders, we don’t yet know. A video interview with the writer, however, suggests that Gellar wasn’t directly involved in any of the killings.

One thing is clear, Travis’ dark passenger has taken on Gellar’s form.

I’ve toyed with offering up my thoughts on Gellar’s mortal state, but I’ve resisted because I wasn’t quite confident enough to publicly give it voice. I don’t regret that because it’s an awesome twist that hopefully caught a lot of people by surprise.

It certainly answered the questions I had proposed in my last post regarding DEXTER — Dexter Morgan can’t catch Professor Gellar and Travis was indeed untrustworthy.

Another thing’s for certain, Dexter isn’t going to be happy about being duped and for Travis, there’s gonna be hell to pay.

DEXTER airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. Central on Showtime.

Go, Hot Dog, Go!

Bodie Olmos, son of EJO and Battlestar Galactica‘s Brendan “Hot Dog” Constanza, will be racing Saturday in the North Face Endurance Challenge, a 50k trail run in San Marin, California.

So far this year, Bodie has tackled 13 athletic competitions, beginning with the L.A. Marathon back in March. He has participated in bike races and triathlons, including the USA Triathlon Nationals.
