Monday was a big night for BSG actresses Tricia Helfer and Grace Park. Tricia Helfer appeared briefly at the funeral for Charlie (Charlie Sheen) on the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men, after Sheen’s notorious remarks and disparaging assaults against sitcom creator Chuck Lorre forced the show to recast its lead, thus killing off the character in a rather dark, humorous way.
The ninth season opener posted its best numbers ever for the show (16.2 rating/23 share in Fast National overnight ratings from The Nielsen Co.) According to InsideBlip, the numbers were 86 percent higher than the Valentine’s Day episode for the series, which was aired prior to Sheen’s well-known and widely-reported meltdown.
Still, the numbers are considered abnormal for the intense public interest surrounding how Sheen’s departure from Two and a Half Men after eight years as series lead inflated interest. The numbers are expected to see at least a 30 to 50 percent drop, given the uncertainty of Ashton Kutcher’s assumption as the lead actor in the sitcom.
Meanwhile, the Hawaii Five-O reboot starring Grace Park returned for its second season yesterday night, which did not benefit from the Two and a Half Men boost. However, its ratings were better than the first season finale before it, clocking in at 7.6/12.
